We made it!
Well we made to Australia mate! Looking back it was actually a pretty crazy adventure. In Phoenix we arrived and our tickets were not being approved to board. It ended up being that Jetson's middle name was Kay on his passport and Zay in his ticket.... Anger towards passport agency!! We had to literally run to the gate and through security. They called our names over the intercom. Last call! We got to the gate and were notified that the overhead bins were all full so we had to check our carry-ons. We frantically grabbed stuff we could carry and got on. Nothing like being the last on the plane!

We landed in Honolulu at 11:40 ish and our flight was leaving at 12:40. Well we were told by some random guy that our stroller and car seat would be transferred to the Sydney flight. Awesome. We ran and had to take a shuttle to the next gate. There we found out that we could not get a bassinet but were able to get a whole row of 4 seats. It was good enough. Again we were close to the last to board and were just hoping that all of our stuff made it on the plane. The plane ended up leaving early at 12:20. Crazy! Jetson had a little more difficulty as did I since I had already been on a plane for the last 7 hours and just needed a break.
Time seemed slow but we made to Sydney. Hallelujah! When we landed we were met with a long line at customs and were able to swing into a shorter line from an officer. Then we got our bags...all had made it including stroller and car seat. Whew. Then we walked outside and were freezing. Brett was in shorts and short sleeve shirt. Good ol Arizonans. We took a taxi to our hotel and finally said we made it. Jetson was exhausted as were we.
Jetson proceeded to wake up almost every hour crying almost inconsolably. Hopefully that will get better as we get more/better sleep.
Our first day was fun. Oh yes I did catch a little cold amidst all the lack of sleep so that had been irritating. But our first day we went to the monumental bridge and opera house. Prior to doing there we went to a grocery store near our hotel and got some things for lunch and breakfast. Thus far Australia has had the most amercian things in the grocery store than anywhere else I have traveled.
We cruised through the botanical garden to get back home. It was a lot of walking but super awesome. Jetson loves looking at everything and checking out new stuff. This place is very beautiful and it is so cool to see a busy city next to the ocean along with amazing greenery. First day was a success. We ended the night with a Turkish kebab (reminiscent of Switzerland). It was good and filling. We will see what tomorrow brings.
